Allison Kelly
Bandleader
After a decade of touring with original music and theater, one thing remained constant: women’s music, songwriting, and stories were told far less than their male counterparts. Inspired to bring female identifying artists to center stage, and to create a collective for NYC based singer/instrumentalists, Allison created Americana Women. From it’s earliest days, Americana Women has employed women on the creative, performing, technical, and management teams. Aside from Americana Women, favorite work includes: Monstress (Hunger and Thirst Theatre Co. NYC) Regional: The Other Josh Cohen, American Idiot, Ring of Fire, Airness, Almost Heaven: John Denver’s America. NY Workshops: Little Orphan Danny, The Hello Girls. TV: The Helpsters (Apple TV+), The 75th Annual Tony Awards (ensemble vocalist). Allison tours nationally as June Carter with Darlin’ Companion: Johnny and June Carter Cash and Not Fade Away: Rock n/ Roll Reignited. She has served as Music Director for the Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her original music can be found through her band, Southpaw Green, on all streaming services. @akplaysmusic @southpawgreenmusic.
